2025 was completely different for the Bundesliga teams, but each team had its moment of glory. Here’s our review.

Mainz 05

The Mainz team would love to turn back the clock six months when they qualified for the Conference League thanks to their sixth-place finish.

1. FC Heidenheim

FCH will also fondly remember their European Cup successes. In February 2025, the Schmidt team was still playing in the playoffs for the Conference League round of 16. They only lost to Copenhagen in extra time.

St. Pauli

The promotion of Eugen Polanski and the derby win against Cologne ensured that 2025 also had bright spots from a Foal perspective. The signing of Haris Tabakovic also proved to be a golden move in hindsight.

SC Freiburg

In his first season as head coach, Julian Schuster’s Freiburg team finished fifth. Definitely a huge success for the Breisgau team, who are now also shaking up the Europa League.
