Finn Wolfhard, A$AP Rocky Tapped for First ‘SNL’ of 2026

Stranger Things actor will appear after the Netflix show’s series finale, while rapper is se to perform one day after Don’t Be Dumb arrives
Finn Wolfhard will host Saturday Night Live when it returns for its first episode of 2026. Joining the Stranger Things star is musical guest A$AP Rocky.
The show returns on Jan. 17, a couple of weeks after Stranger Things airs its series finale on Dec. 31. Meanwhile, A$AP Rocky will appear one day after his long-awaited album, Don’t Be Dumb, finally arrives.
On Friday, the rapper announced his fourth album would be released on vinyl, CD, cassette, and digitally on Jan. 16, via Instagram. The post includes a carousel of what looks to be the artwork of various covers, with verbiage that reads that the music is being presented by him and Tim Burton. In a previous post from earlier in the week, the rapper hinted at a film with the director, but did not provide details, writing, “SORRY 4 THE WAIT DON’T BE DUMB FINALLY HERE! THANKS TIM BURTON FOR HELPING ME MAKE THIS MOVIE! COMING SOON.”
Wolfhard, a musician himself, released Happy Birthday in June, followed by a solo tour. He’s also working on a new project based on Bob Mehr’s acclaimed 2016 biography Trouble Boys: The True Story of the Replacements, which Wolfhard is turning into a feature film. He’s co-writing the screenplay with his father, Eric Wolfhard, and producer Rich Peete (Blue Ruin) is attached to the project.
SNL announced host Wolfhard and musical guest A$AP Rocky during the Ariana Grande-hosted episode on Saturday, which featured musical guest Cher. Last night’s holiday-themed episode served as its final live broadcast of 2025 and Bowen Yang’s last show as a cast member.
