ASAP Rocky, Finn Wolfhard Prep for ‘Saturday Night Live’ in New Promo

Saturday Night Live! is back for the new year with a night of firsts. To kick things off, Finn Wolfhard will host his inaugural SNL appearance, the first show of 2026, and A$AP Rocky will join him as the night’s musical guest.

In a new promo video for the episode, Wolfhard, A$AP, and comedian Sarah Sherman seem to already have developed a cadence with one another. In the new clip, A$AP Rocky gives Wolfhard advice: “When in doubt, just say ‘I’m handsome.’” Wolfhard embodies the confident line, while Sherman delivers a funny, awkward attempt. “It’s kind of our thing,” Wolfhard tells her.

The promo clip features a few brief skits. In another, Wolfhard asks about the trio’s excitement about the show on a scale of one to 10. Of course, they both answer “11” in a silly nod to Stranger Things, the show Wolfhard starred in for the past five seasons until its series finale at the end of December.

Saturday’s episode isn’t just Wolfhard’s first time hosting SNL, it also marks A$AP Rocky’s official debut as a musical guest. Previously, the rapper came down to Studio 8 and made a cameo in a 2018 sketch with Donald Glover, Kenan Thompson, Chris Redd, and Cecily Strong. It’s been an exciting week for Rocky; on Friday, the rapper released his highly-anticipated fourth album, and first LP in eight years.

Fans can tune into Wolfhard and Rocky’s night of SNL firsts this Saturday, Jan. 17 at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC and the show also streams live on Peacock.
