The group will also unveil the record’s lead single, “I Will Not Be Coming Back”

Ann Wilson and her band Tripsitter announced their new album, Consecrated Ground, out Aug. 14. The group’s lead single “I Will Not Be Coming Back” will arrive later today.

Described in a statement as a “fearless collection of songs that blends heavy rock, psychedelia, blues, and raw emotional storytelling,” the upcoming record comes amid a pivotal period for Wilson. In February 2025, Wilson returned to the stage for Heart’s long-awaited Royal Flush Tour following her cancer journey involving surgery and preventive chemotherapy. The singer also launched her podcast After Dinner Thinks, which she hosts with Criss Cain, and recently unveiled her solo documentary, In My Voice.

Wilson, who was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2013 with her sister Nancy, spoke with Rolling Stone in May about her colossal career and how the documentary was a chance for fans to “know me apart from Heart, apart from music, even — just the things that have happened to me and the journeys I’ve been through now as an older woman.”

When discussing parts of the film that shifted the way she saw her own story, she replied, “I was surprised by a lot of things — by how funny, cheerful, and jokey I used to be when I was younger. Now, I feel more serious about life. Not sad, I’m more philosophic.”

In My Voice delves into Wilson’s story, from her childhood in Seattle to her evolution as one of the greatest vocalists and songwriters in rock history. Told in her own words, the documentary draws from a personal archive of home footage, photographs, and journals, and goes back to the days when the Wilson sisters were known as “Little Led Zeppelin.”
