Alan Ritchson Will Not Face Charges After Alleged Fight With Neighbor

Reacher star Alan Ritchson will not face charges following a physical altercation between him and his neighbor in the Nashville suburb of Brentwood, Tennessee.

On Tuesday (March 24), the Brentwood Police Department shared a statement with Rolling Stone saying, “After reviewing available evidence, including video footage and witness statements, authorities determined that no criminal charges will be pursued. Mr. Ritchson’s actions were found to be in self-defense. Although a potential reckless endangerment charge was considered, Mr. Ritchson declined to pursue charges. With the agreement of the District Attorney’s Office, the case is now closed, and no further action will be taken.”

A rep for Ritchson did not immediately return Rolling Stone‘s request for comment.

The incident took place this past weekend. Ronnie Taylor, a Brentwood resident, claimed on March 21 that he saw Ritchson speeding around the area on a motorcycle, which he claimed caused a disturbance. In response, Taylor claimed he flipped Ritchson the bird, raising his middle finger at the actor, who returned the same gesture to Taylor.

The following day on Sunday, March 22, Taylor claimed to TMZ — who shared a video of the alleged altercation between the neighbors — that he witnessed Ritchson on his motorcycle once again. He was accompanied by what is believed to be his two young sons, who were also riding motorbikes. Taylor claimed he told Ritchson, “Can you fucking stop please?” Allegedly following that, the incident became physical. In an edited video shared by TMZ, Taylor is seen on the ground as Ritchson is hitting him. However, Taylor admitted in an interview with the outlet, that “I did push him because he was coming towards me on his bike. He did it again, I pushed him a second time.”

The outlet also ran a video of the altercation from a body camera that Ritchson was apparently wearing when the incident took place. In it, the pair exchanged heated words before and during the alleged physical altercation.
