Boots slashes MAC makeup gift set to just £35

Black Friday sales are in full swing, and whether you’re an avid makeup lover or you’re looking to shop for someone who loves all things beauty this Christmas, Boots has some pretty brilliant deals on premium brands. One that’s caught our eye is a gift set from MAC.

According to Boots, the MAC All Star Beauty Kit Star Gift, a makeup pouch packed with four best-selling products from the big-name beauty brand, is worth £92 if purchased individually. However, as part of its Star Gifts promotion, you can get it for just £35.10. Plus, Boots also has 30% off select premium beauty as part of its Black Friday sale.

However, this deal is only available for a limited period, with new products being discounted every week in the lead up to Christmas. The gift set comprises four of MAC’s top-selling products, each designed to provide the finishing touches to any makeup look. The products are all fairly versatile. They include a lip gloss, from the Lipgloss Air range, in the shade snobbish, which is a wearable pink nude suitable for both daily wear and special occasions.

The set also features the ‘Extended Play Mascara’, which claims to have 16-hour longevity, yet can be easily removed with just warm water (thankfully, there’s no stubborn waterproof mascara that takes days to remove).

Also included is the ‘Fix+ Original’, a product that both hydrates and primes skin before makeup application and doubles as a setting spray afterwards. This underrated gem, which always enhances a look, retails separately for £21.75 at Boots.

The set also contains their viral lip pencil in the shade ‘Cool Spice’, which has previously sold out. It’s a soft brown that creates the trendy ombre lip look currently popular online.

The four products are presented in a beautiful silver MAC makeup bag. The gift set also comes with a £5 MAC voucher.

Although there are no reviews of the gift set online, numerous positive comments have been made about the individual products.

One satisfied buyer of the Extended Play Mascara said it is the “best mascara ever”, whilst another said they have “tried many brands and many different applicators, and this is a game changer.”

However, not everyone was pleased with the products. One customer who bought the lip gloss said they felt it did not last long, but another buyer was pleased, stating it was “not very sticky at all … has a fairly long-lasting shine.”

From Boots, this lip gloss is priced at £17.25 – just under half the cost of this set of four.
