Chris Colfer’s annual holiday message, who is not only an actor but a bestselling author too, has been the same this year as well where he recommends books as gifts for children. The Glee star shared a photo of him, jokingly, apologizing for the pink Mickey Mouse sweater with which he was dressing for the Christmas party and showing off a few of his novels.

Chris Colfer is again at the door of his kindness and humanity sharing the books. The actor, writer, and producer took this opportunity to claim that books are the best Christmas presents for the kids. The picture shows Colfer holding his titles, from the ‘The Land of Stories’ series and others, a kind of visual list of gifts. His prankish apology for the loud, Christmas-themed sweater has only made the post more pleasant, revealing his characteristic humor of self-deprecation.
The audience’s reaction was quick and huge; besides, many of them at the same time admired his writing and holiday dressing. Someone pointed to his “triple-threat” abilities, saying, “actor, writer, and salesman”, which was a very brief but effective summary of how Colfer is this good in moving from screen to shelf. The sweater turned out to be a reason for celebration rather than a need for an apology. Another commentator declared, ‘Great one, no apologies for the sweater, Love it!’ This sentiment was very much echoed, one user even went so far as to call the garment ‘iconic’ and added, ‘forget that – you are iconic.’
Nevertheless, the talk was primarily about Colfer’s books and their tremendous impact on the children. A large number of parents confessed their heartfelt recollections of the author making joyful moments with their kids through his books. One person described the meeting with the writer and their daughter at a book signing and commented, ‘She is such a great fan that I decided to read the land of stories series to her, and I liked it!’ Their reading together was a common theme. Another comment was, ‘My daughter and I have read all of land of stories books together, such beautiful memories!’
The influence on kids was a very strong implicit message. One mother gave a very touching testimony, ‘Your Land of Stories series awoke a love for reading in my bright but dyslexic little one that I am forever grateful to you for this gift of your wonderful art!’ Numerous kids with the very loved, dog-eared copies were always a sign. One person commented, ‘My kid has been through and gone again the land of stories so many times that the books won’t fit in the box anymore! I can’t believe they’re not falling apart.’ The series allowed others to unlock their imagination; one said, ‘those books were literally my childhood and a big reason I am a writer now!’
In the midst of the compliments, there were also some requests for new creations in the future. A reading aficionado pleaded, ‘Please write another Tome of Magic, you can’t just leave us in that cliffhanger.’ The post was the efuse of a larger debate about reading’s importance, with an author joining in, ‘We all should find time to unwind and read – it’s good for our brain.’

Chris Colfer’s yearly call is much more than just a simple marketing post; it is a calendar marker for the storytelling community. The responses are an indication of how Colfer’s work has simultaneously promoted literacy, strengthened family ties, and brought delight to readers of all ages. The pink Mickey Mouse sweater, which was initially apologetically presented, turned out to be a playful as well as warm connection he is maintaining with his audience. Colfer’s message, although told in his usual friendly manner, merges holiday joy with the sincere advocacy of a good book as a timeless gift. Fans can also look forward to his upcoming speaking engagement and his recent efforts supporting his famous friends on Broadway.
