‘Comfiest’ New Balance shoes are now half price in sale

Shoppers after a trainer refresh for New Year workouts and runs could be in luck with this pair of New Balances biggest discount of the year. With multiple colours and sizes, these shoes sport a specialty design for running in a highly fashionable package.

The WRPD Runner Shoes are currently priced at £77.50 down from £155, saving 50% – the biggest discount we’ve spotted all year. The discounted style is a sandy taupe and sparrow colourway in sizes four to 12.5.

They’re striking in aesthetic, with blown out proportions dressed over a minimalist upper that offers a contemporary style with a dash of energy. They have a flowy, curved knit upper draped in wavy accents over a thick, platform-like outsole.

There are some newer features too, like the foam midsole that propels runners forward using suspension, called a “FuelCell”.  Made from leather and wool, and weighing just 398 grams, it’s perfectly light for sports. New Balance brings in some legacy elements too, with a pigskin New Balance logo and dented heel that brings to mind the CR stability devices from their 990 range.

Those after a shoe designed more for long walks or hikes than running could check out Debenhams’ Skechers Go Walk Flex Slip-Ins Black, currently priced at £51.80, down from £74, saving shoppers 30%. This design is vailable in black in sizes seven to 12, with a breathable upper, slip-on design, and synthetic construction that’s lightweight and flexible.

As an alternative, buyers could also look at the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 25 Running Trainers from Marks and Spencer, currently priced at £144.50. Available in black, green and blue, moonlight or coconut in sizes seven to 11 depending on stocks, they feature added cushioning in the heel and forefoot, along with a breathable mesh upper and lace-up design..

New Balance shoppers love the comfort and look of the WRPD Runner Shoes. One shopper said: “Comfiest shoe out there and on trend with the dad sneaker look.” Another said: “Super comfy shoe, I am totally in love. I am glad I made this purchase, it’s now my daily sneaker.”

However some found the sizing a bit off, posted on New Balance US, one shopper said: “I like this shoe, it’s comfortable and makes me an inch taller, which I always appreciate. But the sizing is off. I’m a solid 6.5 size, and I always wear 6.5s in New Balance, but I ordered 6.5 in this shoe and it was an inch too big. I’m returning for a half size smaller, but I’m a bit worried even that will be too big.”

A happier shopper said: “My parcel arrived about three weeks ago and I have worn these daily! I am obsessed. I love how they are high and give extra clearance for my jeans! They’re comfy too and warm.”
