Connor Storrie Talks ‘Heated Rivalry’ Season 2 Filming: EXCLUSIVE

The already renewed Season 2 of “Heated Rivalry” can’t come soon enough — and actor Connor Storrie shared an update exclusively on TODAY.

The six-episode romance drama, based on the 2019 book of the same name by Rachel Reid, follows the love story between hockey rivals Ilya Rozanov (Storrie) and Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams). After just the fourth episode aired on Crave on Canada and HBO Max in the U.S., the show was renewed for a second season.

In his morning TV show debut on Jan. 14, Storrie said on TODAY that it should be a “Heated” summer in 2026 when filming for the next season gets underway.

“I think Jacob’s still writing it,” he told Craig Melvin, referencing writer and director Jacob Tierney. “I think we’re going to be filming, I don’t know when, exactly.”

Craig asked if “soon” meant as early as this summer.

“Yeah, I think about then,” Storrie said.

“Heated Rivalry” premiered Nov. 28 and aired its finale about one month later. Conversations about the show continue to dominate social media, and when Williams and Storrie made their respective late night debuts on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” crowds swarmed 30 Rock.

During his appearance on “The Tonight Show,” Williams also teased Season 2 of the hockey romance drama.

“There are some big baddies,” he told Fallon. “If Season 1 is like an internal battle, Season 2 is more of an external battle.”

In Reid’s “Game Changers” book series, Shane and Ilya’s story picks up again after “Heated Rivalry” with a sequel, titled “The Long Game.” This book follows their respective pro hockey careers as they continue to keep their relationship a secret. (Just days before Storrie’s TODAY appearance, Reid announced she will release a third book about Shane and Ilya, titled “Unrivaled,” due out in September.)

Tierney has confirmed that Season 2 will continue Shane and Ilya’s story. In a video announcing Season 2, Storrie notably told viewers, “Start reading ‘The Long Game’ if you want spoilers.”
