The first of the big awards ceremonies to kick off the season, the Golden Globes has long been regarded the best party in town.
With both film and television stars recognised, it’s a starry night on the Globes red carpet, with fashion at the fore.
In a year when the majority of the stars shunned colour, gold, metallics and muted tones were in vogue – with black proving the point that it never goes out of fashion.
Here’s a look at some of the best looks of the night.
Metallics and sheer
From cheeky cutaway and sheer gowns, to gold and silver tassels and a giant golden shawl, old Hollywood glamour was plentiful on the red carpet.
Black and white
Monochrome was flavour of the month, with the majority opting for sombre black in satin or velvet.
Just a touch of colour
Keeping it pale, interesting and classy – some stars opted for gentle pastel hues.
Risk takers
While muted tones might have been the theme of the night, the few who opted for bright and unconventional outfits won a place in our hearts. Sartorial bravery we salute you!
