Hailee Steinfeld ‘Distracted’ by Husband’s Playoff Game at Golden Globes

Hailee Steinfeld won’t let her own busy schedule keep her from cheering on her husband, Josh Allen, and the Buffalo Bills.

“The day of the [Golden] Globes, something exciting was on TV that I’m sure you were all watching,” Steinfeld, 29, wrote in the Friday, January 16, edition of her “Beau Society” newsletter. “Kickoff just happened to be at the same time as glam, so I was a little (lot) distracted.”

Steinfeld attended the 2026 Golden Globes in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 11, at the same time that Allen, 29, had a playoff game back in Buffalo, New York. (Allen ultimately led the Bills to victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-24, securing a spot in the AFC Divisional round on Sunday, January 18.)

Steinfeld was unable to attend her husband’s NFL matchup in person, instead stepping out the Golden Globes in support of her nominated movie Sinners and serving as a presenter during the ceremony.

The 2026 Golden Globe Awards are here, and the biggest stars in Hollywood brought their fashion A-game, from couture gowns to razor-sharp tailoring. Comedian Nikki Glaser is reprising her role as host for the event, which kicked off Sunday, January 11, and brought Tinseltown’s most famous to the red carpet. “Hosting the Golden Globes this […]

Despite the scheduling conflict, Steinfeld made sure to cheer on the Bills from afar.

“My glam team is incredible at what they do and worked around my constant movement,” the actress wrote in her newsletter, revealing she watched the game on television. “Andrew [Fitzsimons, my hairstylist] warned me every time an iron was close to my face, so I didn’t accidentally burn myself.”

Steinfeld further praised her makeup artists, Ash Kholm and Tom Bachik, with steadily applying her makeup between major plays.

“Ash waited for a commercial break to do my eyeliner,” she wrote on Friday. “I don’t know how Tom painted my nails with my hands flying around, but he got it done. Dream team.”

Steinfeld attended the awards ceremony with her mother in Allen’s absence.

“I got to put on a gorgeous Prada dress to spend a night out with my new plus one and reconnect with friends I haven’t seen in years,” Steinfeld gushed, calling her gown the “perfect” outfit choice for the awards show. “The fabric flowed over my bump just so. I loved the peach-pink color and how the beading made it look almost liquid.”

She continued, “It felt like the perfect balance of feminine, beautiful, elegant and a little whimsical. Magically, it needed no alterations other than lengthening the slip a few inches. And it’s Prada — kind of a no-brainer.”

Steinfeld and Allen announced in December 2025 that they are expecting their first baby.

“As I step into my 29th year as a softer, stronger version of myself, I want to appreciate some of my favorite moments from this year, both big and small,” she wrote via her newsletter last month, listing 29 things she was grateful for that year. The last entry was a video of her bare baby bump.

Allen subsequently gushed over their impending arrival during a Bill press conference.

“I’ve known for a long time, right? So it’s not that crazy to me,” Allen joked to reporters about Steinfeld’s announcement. “But yeah, I mean, obviously the love that I’ve received from teammates and friends, it’s a really cool special moment in my life, and my wife’s life.”
