“Saturday Night Live” Season 51 will officially return tonight, Jan. 17.
Sans longtime cast member Bowen Yang, the 2026 debut of “SNL” will see two stars headline the sketch comedy show for the first time.
Here’s what to know about the episode.
Yes! “Saturday Night Live” will air a brand new episode on Jan. 17. The episode will premiere on NBC at 11:30 p.m. ET.
The new Jan. 17 episode of “SNL” will be hosted by Finn Wolfhard in his hosting debut. Wolfhard’s gig comes just weeks after the finale of “Stranger Things” dropped on Netflix Dec. 31. Wolfhard starred in the show as Mike Wheeler since it premiered in 2016.
Wolfhard will be joined by musical guest A$AP Rocky, who will headline the show for the first time after making a special appearance in a sketch in 2018.
The Jan. 17 episode will be the first since Yang announced his departure after more than seven seasons.
Yang received a special send-off sketch the Dec. 20 episode of “SNL” — the last one of 2025. Playing a retiring airline employee, Yang was serenaded by host and “Wicked” co-star Ariana Grande as well as musical guest Cher.
Through tears, Yang said in character, “I just feel so lucky that I ever got to work here, and I just wanted to enjoy it for a little bit longer, especially the people. I’ve loved every single person who works here because they’ve done so much for me, especially my boss.”
“This place will always be home, but it’s time to go,” he added.
