Jo Malone shoppers can get perfume set for £60

Mother’s Day is just a matter of weeks away, set to land on Sunday, March 15 this year, and you might already be thinking ahead to the perfect gift. Flowers are always a safe bet (you can see some of our favourites for under £50 here), of course, but if you fancy giving your mum something a little more special – and bagging a decent deal while you’re at it – this might be the moment to think beyond a bouquet.

Jo Malone is one of those names that feels made for gifting, and if the mum in your life is anything like mine, it’s pretty much guaranteed to go down well. The brand is known for its iconic, fresh scents that work beautifully on their own or can be layered to create something completely personal. There are candles and bath and body treats too, all in the same instantly recognisable fragrances.

Right now, Jo Malone is offering shoppers its English Pears and Freesia travel-friendly gift set for £60, down from its usual £70. It includes a 9ml cologne, perfect for someone who is always on the go, as it slips easily into a handbag, makeup bag, or carry-on for your next flight, along with a 30ml hand cream and a 65g candle. All three come in the English Pear and Freesia scent, inspired by freshly ripened pears wrapped in a bouquet of white freesias – it’s light and elegant fragrance. The three items come packaged in Jo Malone’s signature cream and black box, finished with that classic black bow. It’s so pretty you could happily gift it as it is if wrapping isn’t your thing. And if you are sending it directly to the mum in your life, there’s complimentary gift wrapping available at checkout.

If you’ve ever handled one of these Jo Malone boxes, you’ll know they’re far too nice to throw away. They’re nice enough to use again, and I think they’re great for storing little bits and bobs long after the fragrance has been enjoyed.

With the discount, it works out at just £20 per item, which isn’t bad at all, given how much they retail for individually. The fragrance is actually the lowest value item in the set, with shoppers able to purchase a travel-sized fragrance from the brand for £18 full price (a 50ml bottle of the scent would set you back £86). The travel-sized candle is worth £28, so the savings are already stacking up. A travel-sized hand cream, when bought individually, is worth £24.

The discounted price is automatically added at checkout. The travel set doesn’t currently have any customer reviews, though the fragrance itself has plenty on the Jo Malone website.

One shopper said: “This is my personal favourite fragrance.”

Another added: “I use this product daily, so it became my signature scent. People compliment me for it, and I love how it makes me feel.”

However, one shopper said the scent “didn’t suit me”.
