Joe Manganiello and Caitlin O’Connor Leave LA for Hometown Pittsburgh

Joe Manganiello and fiancé Caitlin O’Connor have traded their lives in Los Angeles for somewhere near and dear to their hearts.

“I mean, L.A. has been both of our homes for over 20 years,” O’Connor, 36, said of her and Manganiello, 48, in an interview with People published on Thursday, December 4. “I was born in L.A., but raised in Pittsburgh, so we’re both from the same hometown.”

O’Connor confirmed that she and the Magic Mike actor recently relocated from Los Angeles to the suburbs of Pittsburgh. O’Connor explained that she and Manganiello were excited to be closer to their roots.

“That’s what we really connect on, you know, we share the same upbringing, the same hometown knowledge. And that’s what really connects us as a couple,” she explained. “So it’s beautiful to be back home together.”

O’Connor added that the decision to move was not a “sudden” one for the couple.

“We were thinking about it for a while,” she explained.

The actress also gushed about her and Manganiello’s neighborhood, comparing it to a “postcard.”

“I’ve never been in a more beautiful neighborhood in Pittsburgh,” she said. “It’s just idyllic.”

O’Connor reflected on how she and Manganiello have adapted to the change and scenery especially during the colder months.

“I mean, I watched Joe shovel snow in our driveway for two-and-a-half hours yesterday. And it was the hottest thing I’ve ever seen,” she quipped.

Manganiello and O’Connor connected in September 2023 after meeting at a post-premiere party for her HBO series Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty. Their meeting came two months after Manganiello split from ex-wife Sofia Vergara.

“We have made the difficult decision to divorce,” Manganiello and Vergara, 52, wrote in a joint statement via Instagram at the time. “As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”

Us Weekly confirmed Manganiello and Vergara’s divorce was finalized in April 2024.

Three months after their initial meeting, Manganiello and O’Connor made their official red carpet debut as a couple at the Children of Armenia Fund (COAF) gala in December 2023.

“Joe and Caitlin are both so easygoing that they work really well together,” a source exclusively told Us of the couple’s connection at the time, while adding that O’Connor is not a “high-maintenance” person. “She’s not a big drinker or a party girl.”

Earlier this year, an additional insider teased to Us that wedding bells could be in Manganiello and O’Connor’s future. The source explained that the twosome are “very strong together and serious about a future.”

“They want to have a family,” the source told Us in July. “She wants to be a mom, and he’s open to being a father.”

In October, the pair announced that they were engaged after two years of dating.

“💍 June 24th, 2025 💍,” Manganiello and O’Connor wrote in a joint Instagram post at the time that featured them with their chihuahua, Bubbles, and O’Connor’s ring on display.
