Kate Middleton Comforts Young Mom Who Completed Chemotherapy

Catherine, Princess of Wales, supported a young English mom as she celebrated the completion of her chemotherapy treatment.

The former Kate Middleton, who has been in remission since January 2025, recently visited The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester, England. ITV Granada, a local British news channel, shared a video on Instagram June 4 of Kate’s heartfelt interaction with a 30-year-old mom named Claire Lorente, a patient in the hospital.

In the clip, the British royal walks into the cancer ward and tells Lorente, “Well done, you. Please, don’t worry. What a journey.”

Lorente becomes emotional as Kate asks, “It’s been a tough one?”

“It’s been hard,” Lorente says through tears.

Kate then continues to console Lorente and sweetly rubs her arm. “What an amazing thing. Isn’t mummy brave?” she asks Lorente’s toddler next to her.

The teary-eyed mom places her hands over her face as she is encouraged to ring a bell, marking the end of her treatment. Lorente walks over and rings the bell a few times as Kate and the hospital staff applaud her.

Kate reflected on her visit to The Christie, calling it “such a moving” experience, in a message shared on X.

“Meeting patients, families and staff was a powerful reminder that healing is about so much more than treatment alone,” she wrote. “A cancer diagnosis affects every part of life, in mind, body and the deeper part of ourselves. The way we process fear, uncertainty and change is deeply personal.”

She praised the hospital for taking care of its patients and for its commitment to improving their quality of life.

“These services empower patients to play an active role in their recovery and wellbeing, reminding us that care should always be (centered) on the whole person. Thank you for sharing your stories with me, and for the compassion, creativity and dedication shown every day across the hospital,” she added.

The post included a picture of Kate and Lorente meeting.

Kate has opened up about her cancer treatment over the years after first revealing her diagnosis in March 2024. She finished her chemotherapy treatment in September 2024, confirming that she was “cancer free.”

Last month, the princess flew to Italy in her first international trip since her recovery.

“She’s looking forward to being here, she’s energised, she’s enthused, she’s excited to see Reggio Emilia in action and meet the people here too,” Kate’s aide told NBC News.

The aide noted it was “a huge moment for the princess.”

“There will be many highlights of 2026 but this being her first international visit post her recovery… this is a really significant moment for her,” the aide said.
