Paramount+’s hit series is inspired by the “Boomtown” podcast series. Landman, which premiered in 2024, is focused on the West Texas oil industry with a specific focus on crisis executive Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) and his family. The first two seasons follow Tommy as the corporate fixer working for an oil titan (Jon Hamm) before his boss’ shocking death.
