The actress and writer Laura Prepon has given a very delicious answer to the common post-Thanksgiving question: what to do with turkey that is left over. Prepon posted a quick and healthy turkey salad pita pocket recipe that got her followers reacting with culinary and warm thoughts.

On her social media, there is a video of Prepon explaining how to turn the holiday leftovers into new meals. “A Thanksgiving feast really makes it wonderful to have such fresh nice meals like this afterwards,” she said while she was preparing the dish. Her method included shredding the turkey and combining it with other ingredients such as celery, pecans, dried cranberries, and the star, Opal apple, which was picked for its juicy sweetness. A pita was then layered with hummus and filled with the salad. “It’s a little surprise. Yum,” she said and then took a bite looking very happy about it.

The post was more of a down-to-earth slice of life rather than a stunning celebrity revelation. Prepon, who has starred in ‘That ’70s Show’ and ‘Orange Is the New Black,’ frequently invites her fans to join her family and cooking lives by using her ‘#GetYourPrepOn’ hashtag. This latest installment was no different; it was a suggestion of practical nature packaged in Prepon’s characteristically straightforward and friendly manner.

The audience reacted by praising the recipe and at the same time showing love to Prepon. Many were eager to experiment with the new idea. One commentator literally wrote, “This is such a great idea!!” while another one shouted in disbelief, “Oh my God! I would love to try this!” The global aspect showed as one person wrote in Portuguese, “Delicia deve ficar muito bom” (“Delicious, it must be very good”).

Some users used this opportunity to narrate their own post-holiday traditions, a virtual potluck was held in the comment section. One user mentioned, “We made turkey soup out of your leftover turkey with a lot of veggies and some noodles.” Another user discussed their tradition, “Any leftovers will usually go into a sarnie or similar, add salad, or just mayo.” The creativity did not stop there as one user even said she had come up with a dish called “tiny turkey bombs of joy—Turkey-Sweet Potato Croquettes dipped in cranberry sauce.”

Not all of the comments revolved around the food theme. Several people took the chance to give Prepon a compliment. “You are gorgeous,” one user remarked simply. Another said, “Amor el prototipo de mujer que eres…” (“Love, the prototype of a woman that you are…”). Some comments were highly familiar or scarcely relevant, e.g., one person exclaimed, “I Bet It Tastes Even Better! 👅” and another that was convolutedly and absently referring to “the long leggy red-head Dame.”

Alongside the culinary discussions, there came up a practical question. One follower asked what dressing alternative they could use, saying, “I don’t like hummus because of the consistency.” This user referred to the interactive aspect of Prepon’s post, which not only called for sharing but also problem-solving and adaptation—essential features of home cooking. Her approach to cooking often includes seasonal creations.

Laura Prepon’s turkey left-over pita does remind us that even celebs suffer from the same post-holiday issues like the rest of us. She offered an ingenious, nutritious, and aesthetically pleasing option that would cut through the heaviness of Thanksgiving meals. By urging her audience for their suggestions, Prepon performed a very community-building act around the themes of being resourceful and having good food. In the end, it was just a post that hit home because of the universal theme of making the most of the situation, and sometimes even making it tastier in the process. She has also shared her expertise in making a festive pumpkin spice espresso martini and has a favorite cocktail choice for colder weather. Beyond the kitchen, Prepon has been seen at events like the star-studded opening of Craig’s restaurants in Nashville.
