Laz Alonso and the rest of ‘The Boys’ cast and crew made sure to dramatize their emotions by a rapturous reception at CCXP in São Paulo, Brazil. Stepping forward, the actor told an amazing story of the thousands of fans of the series who were giving the signature salute and welcoming him with open arms. This event has really pushed the already high expectation about the release of the fifth season of the series one more notch up.

Laz Alonso is still feeling great after the trip of a lifetime. The guy who portrays Mother’s Milk in the stunning Amazon show ‘The Boys’ took some time off to reflect on the cast’s recent visit to CCXP in São Paulo. And he was absolutely right, the reception was nothing short of extraordinary.

Alonso in an emotional Instagram post script recalled the ‘immense love’ the Brazilian public showered them with. He particularly emphasized the almost unbelievable scenario of about 6,000 supporters cheering and receiving them with a great wave of extended middle fingers. For those who don’t know it, this is the show’s signature salute, a defiant symbol that is very much a part of its central theme ‘Fck Supes.’ Alonso admitted that he had the honor of receiving that particular type of welcome and it was never better than this time. He concluded his post with a fervent ‘Obrigado’ and an echoing call of his character’s nickname, ‘Leitinhoooooooo!’, meaning that Season 5 is a definite go.

Alonso’s post generated a series of responses filled with love not just from Brazilian fans but also from the international ones. A fan from the official Brazilian fan page referred to it as an ‘honor’ to finally meet him and the group while pleading, ‘PLEASE COME BACK SOON. We love you!’ Another person simply commented, ‘Always come back!! LEITINHOOOOO,’ which perfectly indicated the ongoing request for the cast’s return to the country.

The comments section was not all hearts and flowers, but rather one-sided debate. An inquisitor expressed his curiosity by asking a question that might be on many people’s mind, ‘Dope! Ok but real question… what’s up with the middle finger? I see this a lot in pics and I’m wondering if I’m missing something.’ A user knowledgeable on the matter quickly came to let the cat out of the bag, giving away that it was the show’s official salute based on its core motto. Case dismissed.

The love was not limited to Brazil only, it was also in other places. The comments from the users was essentially indicative of a feeling of global excitement, much like when Karl Urban and the cast received a Guinness World Record. Alonso recently took a moment to celebrate seven years with ‘The Boys’ family. He also enjoys sharing memories, like a throwback photo from “Jumping the Broom”. As the series builds towards its conclusion, Alonso has been teasing a scorched-earth finale for ‘The Boys’.
