Miley Cyrus Engaged to Maxx Morando After 4 Years of Dating

Miley Cyrus and boyfriend Maxx Morando are engaged after four years of dating.

Us Weekly confirmed the news on Tuesday, December 2, after Cyrus, 33, and Morando, 27, sparked engagement rumors at the Avatar: Fire And Ash premiere in Los Angeles on Monday, December 1. The couple posed together on the red carpet in coordinating black ensembles, and eagle-eyed fans noticed a gold and diamond ring on the “Flowers” singer’s left ring finger. An insider told Us that the engagement happened in early November.

Francesca Consulting, which reps jewelry designer Jacquie Achie, confirmed to the outlet that Achie designed Cyrus’ ring. The sparkler is a cushion cut set in a 14K yellow gold band.

Cyrus first appeared to wear the ring in photos shared via Instagram for her birthday on November 23. The black-and-white snaps showed the Grammy winner blowing out a candle on a cake and smiling as she looked off camera.

“33 is already burning bright thanks to the warmth of your sweet birthday wishes,” Cyrus captioned the post. “All I want this year is more laughs with the people who give me the little smile lines that are starting to show up. 🤍 I love you all.”

Maxx’s father, Dan Morando, also reportedly shared a photo of Cyrus’ hand wearing the ring via his own Instagram and congratulated the couple in the caption, according to screenshots shared by PopCrave via X on Tuesday.

Cyrus and Maxx began dating after they met on a blind date in summer 2021.

“Well, it was blind for me and not really for him. I thought, ‘The worst that can happen is I leave,’” Cyrus revealed to British Vogue in May 2023.

Months after their first date, the couple was spotted dancing together at Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party special in January 2022. During the event, Cyrus also sang a song called “You,” which many fans believed to be about Maxx.

“I got some baggage / Let’s do some damage / I am not made for no horsey and carriage / You know I’m savage / You’re looking past it,” the lyrics read. “I want that late-night sweet magic / That forever lasting love / But only if it’s with you.”

Cyrus and Maxx have mostly kept their relationship out of the spotlight. However, earlier this year, the Disney Channel alum joked about their nearly six-year age gap during an appearance on the “Sorry We’re Cyrus” podcast.

“He will be 27 when I turn 33, which I’m so excited for him to turn 27 ’cause that was such a great year for me,” she said during a June episode. “I’m just hoping that, as long as he follows in my footsteps, everything is going to be great. That’s right when I started turning my life around.”

Cyrus also gushed about their chemistry and attributed it to their zodiac signs.

“He’s a Scorpio and so is his grandfather, that’s what makes Maxx just so cool because he can sting. Like, [Scorpios are] very cool, think that they’re little angels, until it turns around and they got a sting,” she continued. “I couldn’t be with someone [who] doesn’t sting. They would have been toast already.”

Before her relationship with Maxx, Cyrus was in an on-off relationship with Liam Hemsworth for a decade, culminating in their two-year marriage from 2018 to 2020.
