The incident comes three years after Migos bandmate Takeoff was fatally shot
Offset was shot near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, a representative for the rapper confirmed to Rolling Stone.
“We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care,” said the spokesperson. “He is stable and being closely monitored.”
The incident comes more than three years after Takeoff, a member of the rap trio, died at the age of 28 on Nov. 1, 2022, after he was shot in Houston. Following his death, Offset shared a tribute to his bandmate and cousin. “The pain you have left me with is unbearable,” Offset wrote. “My heart is shattered and I have so many things to say, but I can’t find the words. I’ve been going to sleep and waking up hoping that all of this is a dream, but it’s reality, and reality feels like a nightmare.”
On the one one-year anniversary of the Migos rapper’s tragic death, Offset and Quavo remembered Takeoff’s legacy. “The times we spent is priceless what we built in this game they never wanted to give us our flowers we influenced the world,” Offset wrote in a social media post at the time. “I Love you Take you still here with us I just know you are!!!! Migo 4Life!!!!!!”
