Jhostynxon Garcia was one of the Pittsburgh Pirates‘ many big offseason pickups when he was acquired in a trade with the Boston Red Sox on Dec. 4.

The 2026 campaign hasn’t gone as planned for “The Password” so far though.
Garcia had a big spring training but was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis in March and has gone 9-for-57 with one double, no home runs and three RBIs across 59 plate appearances covering 14 games this year.
Indianapolis then placed the 23-year-old on the seven-day injured list Friday due to a back issue.
“Jhostynxon Garcia is being placed on Triple-A Indianapolis’ injured list with lower back tightness,” Pirates insider Alex Stumpf posted on Bluesky.
