‘Retro and timeless’ perfume slashed from £63 to £25.60 on Amazon

While winter fragrances are often cosy and gourmand, many perfume fans like to switch up their scent come spring to something a little fresher and zestier. Customers have been singing the praises of a ‘timeless’ scent they claim garners numerous compliments – and it’s less than £30.

CK One Essence has seen its price slashed by 59%, dropping from £63 to just £25.60 in a limited-time offer. The gender-neutral fragrance was launched in 2024 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original 1994 CK One scent.

The perfume begins with refreshing notes of white tea, bergamot, blood orange and black pepper, before evolving into a heart of green tea, mint and geranium. It concludes with an earthy base of musk, sandalwood, incense and moss, reports the Mirror.

The tea elements in the top and base notes echo those found in Molton Brown’s new £140 scent, Tea Ceremony, which features green tea and matcha. It’s also drawn comparisons to Creed’s Silver Mountain Water (£310), with which it shares four notes.

On Amazon, CK One Essence boasts an average rating of 4.6 out of 5, based on 1,762 global reviews. One customer commented: “Just what I need. I am not a perfume connoisseur in any way, but I’d say that CK ONE EDT and EDP especially are just right for me: unassuming, subtle, soft and sensual fragrance.”

Another was so impressed they plan to repurchase, writing: “Really like this product. This scent is sort of retro and timeless. The bottle is well made, the smell is fresh and lasts. Bought in the sale, I will look out for it again. I didn’t have a CK phase as a youth, but am embracing it in my 40s.”

However, one shopper expressed a desire for improved longevity, stating: “I would expect a bit more from CK. This specific one’s smell does not last long.” To maximise the lasting power of a fragrance, experts suggest applying it to clean, freshly washed skin. Ideally straight after moisturising whilst there’s still some moisture present on the skin.

Another shopper was impressed with the longevity, saying: “What can you say about this classic? This is a little bit stronger than the original which is just perfect now. I use it in work and it lasts up to six hours which is just perfect. Not over the top. Just a nice smell. Been complimented a couple of times.”

It’s evident that customers generally consider around six hours to be typical longevity for this scent, with another writing: “Calvin Klein one for me has always been a light and refreshing smell.

“Usually once sprayed it’ll probably last 6-8 hours when sprayed on skin and a bit longer when sprayed on clothing. The size is compact and great for portable use if need be.”
