To complete her outfit, Eugenie opted for Fendi’s Peekaboo IseeU bag with a 3D flower in tan (£3,556) and Penelope Chilvers’s Burford Boots in light brown (£389).

Royal fans were impressed with her sartorial choice and took to social media to praise her.

One user wrote on the royal fashion page Remoulade Sauce’s X account: “I love everything about this beautiful cape! The colours and the burgundy beret are perfection.”

A second one commented, “I love her entire ensemble! Very pretty!”
