Savannah Guthrie’s Brother Addresses Mother’s Suspected Kidnappers

Savannah Guthrie‘s brother, Camron Guthrie, spoke on behalf of their family following the disappearance of their mother, Nancy Guthrie, from her home in Tucson, Arizona.

“I’m speaking for the Guthrie family. Whoever is out there holding our mother, we want to hear from you,” Camron said in an Instagram video posted on Thursday, Feb. 5, by Savannah. “We haven’t heard anything directly. We need you to reach out and we need a way to communicate with you so we can move forward.”

He added, “But first we have to know that you have our mom. We want to talk to you, and we are waiting for contact.”

Nancy was last seen on Jan. 31 and local authorities have acknowledged reports of an alleged ransom note, although it has yet to be directly confirmed by officials. The 84-year-old woman is believed to have been taken from her home against her will.

Camron’s video was posted a day after he joined Savannah and their sister Annie in a tearful video in which they addressed the reported ransom note and said they are “ready to talk.” In the previous video shared on social media, Savannah said that their mother’s heart is “fragile” and she lives in “constant pain,” and that she needs her medicine to survive. She also addressed the alleged kidnappers: “We live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated. We need to know without a doubt that she is alive and that you have her, we want to hear from you, and we are ready to listen.”

The missing person report for Nancy describes her as being 5 feet 5 inches, weighing 150 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is asking those with potential evidence to submit information via an online tip portal.

Earlier on Thursday, Heith Janke, the FBI’s special agent in charge in Phoenix, announced at a news conference that a $50,000 reward is being offered information leading to the recovery of Nancy and or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.

Sheriff Chris Nanos said that no suspect or person of interest has been identified at this time. “Everybody’s still a suspect in our eyes,” Nanos said. “The family’s been very cooperative, they’ve done everything we’ve asked of them.”
