Shoppers praise makeup balm that makes skin look ’10 years younger’

Winter often takes a toll on skin, with colder temperatures sapping moisture and limited sunlight dulling its appearance. To keep it looking and feeling healthy, this award-winning Jones Road Miracle Balm might be the key to restoring a little bit of glow over the festive period.

Described by Jones Road as ‘genius in a pot’, the light-reflecting Miracle Balm – which costs £38 for a 50g tub – is designed to work as a highlighter, blush, bronzer, or can simply be used on its own for a no-makeup glow. Formulated with jojoba seed oil, the Miracle Balm helps moisturise and soften skin thanks to replenishing fatty acids and vitamin E, and it’s non-comedogenic so it won’t clog pores.

To use it, the brand recommends warming the formula between fingers to soften it, and applying it to the cheeks or lips using fingertips, palms, a brush, or a sponge. As for colours, there are many to choose from – the Jones Road website features a handy tool to find the ideal shade based on usage and skin tone.

For a cheaper choice, Boots sells this Revolution Balm Glow for £5.99, which comes in eight shades, including Natural Nude, Flushed Pink, and Golden Hour. According to the brand, it’s suitable for use on the cheeks, eyes, and lips.

Another budget pick is this MUA Sculpt Beauty Balm for £4 at Superdrug, available in eight shades. It works as a blush, bronzer, contour, and highlight, and has been infused with almond oil extract and vitamin E to nourish skin.

Back to the Jones Road Miracle Balm, shoppers are rather impressed, rating it an average 4.29 out of five on the brand’s website, with more than 73,000 reviews. One said: “The girl who assisted me was so incredible. She immediately knew the best colour option for me. The product is the best I’ve ever used in my 64 years, honestly. My husband said it made me look ten years younger.”

A second added: “Smells divine, and brings some radiance to your face. It gives such a gorgeous but subtle glow.” A third chimed in: “As a former makeup artist, I can honestly say that I’m blown away by the entire line of Jones Road. I always get compliments on my skin when wearing it.”

One shared their thoughts with some feedback: “I love all the miracle balms, but would like a matte finish set and a more pigmented colour. It does wear off quite quickly.”

Another said: “The quality and colour of the product is nice, but I am working on understanding the application. A learning curve for sure, so the jury is out on this one.”
