Shoppers with acne-prone skin praise SPF 30 that won’t trigger spots

SPF is a skincare essential all year round, but it becomes even more important during the summer, when UV levels are at their highest. The difficulty, however, is finding a formula that protects skin without triggering breakouts.

For anyone with blemish-prone skin, there may finally be an answer. 47 Skin – the brand known for its innovative silver chitoderm-infused formulas designed to calm inflammation – has launched its new Daily SPF 30, and shoppers claim it protects without clogging pores or causing spots.

The lightweight moisturiser, priced at £24 for 30ml, is formulated to defend against radiation, pollution and harmful UVA and UVB rays, while still feeling breathable on the skin. Like the rest of the brand’s range, it contains silver chitoderm, an ingredient said to eliminate 99.9% of blemish-causing bacteria.

The sunscreen is available in two sizes, 30ml (£24) and 50ml (£35), and can also be bought on a subscription basis, allowing shoppers to save 10%. Flexible delivery options (every 30, 60 or 90 days) are on offer, with discounts rising to 15% on second and third orders.

For those looking to revamp their routine ahead of sunnier days, there is also a Five-Step Sunproof Bundle (£126). The kit comprises the brand’s bestselling cleanser, serum, and SPF, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Beyond 47 Skin, another option for sensitive skin is Beauty of Joseon’s Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics (£13.95, Boots). It contains several skin-soothing ingredients, such as niacinamide and green tea. Alternatively, Skin + Me’s Daily Defence Oil (£19.99) is appropriate for all skin types and tones. It harnesses Vitamin E to safeguard the skin while maintaining hydration and smoothness.

Returning to 47 Skin’s Daily SPF 30, it has garnered numerous glowing reviews from customers. One shopper shared: “This is the first time I’ve had an SPF that actually doesn’t give me spots.”

Meanwhile, another commented: “I have been ordering the serum and the daily SPF 30 regularly for some time now. It has really improved my skin and helps with redness more than any other product I have tried.”

A further customer added: “This is the first time I’ve had an SPF that actually doesn’t give me spots. It’s genuinely a miracle. I have tried everything on the market. Everything.

“I came here looking for a daily SPF to save me from my horrendous cystic acne that I get every time I use SPF, and this has been exactly the product for me. I am very happy.”

One customer did suggest that the brand consider introducing refills, noting: “Glass bottles are a plus… may I also suggest selling refills? I understand the refill(s) would need to be a specific type of material to store the ingredients, but maybe that’s something to look into? That’s the only recommendation I would have.”

On a more positive note, one devoted 47 Skin customer who bought the Five-Step Sunproof Bundle remarked: “I purchased the cleanser, serum and sunscreen. I noticed an improvement within a week of using this regimen.

“Not only has it cleared my spots, but it has evened out my skin tone. My skin is the best it’s been in years.”
