Singer Lola Young Is ‘Doing Well’ 3 Months After Collapsing Onstage

Singer Lola Young is offering a candid update on her health nearly three months after she collapsed onstage.

“I just wanted to express gratitude to everyone who has given me time and space to gather myself and get my head in a better place,” Young, 24, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, December 20. “I’ve felt so much love and support from you all, and it has helped more than you will ever now.”

She continued, “I am hoping to gradually get back to performing and continuing [to pursue] my dreams. Happy holidays to you all and can’t wait to see you in 2026. Life is a journey, nothing is perfect, but today I am doing well.”

Young signed her social media statement, “All my love always, Lola.”

Lola Young left her mark with the viral hit “Messy” — and she’s just getting started. The British musician made an impression on two major players in the music world — Nick Shymansky, who managed the late Amy Winehouse, and Nick Huggett, who signed Adele — early on in her career. She released her debut […]

The “Messy” singer had passed out in the middle of her All Things Go festival set in September. She was promptly rushed off the stage, per social media footage, and received medical attention.

“Hi, for anyone who saw my set at All Things Go today, I am doing okay now,” she said in a social media update several hours later. “Thank you for all of your support.”

Young canceled a handful of appearances in New York days earlier due to “a sensitive matter,” which she seemingly addressed during her festival set.

“Sometimes life can really make you feel like you can’t continue, but you know what, today I woke up and I made the decision to come here,” she said during the concert, moments before collapsing. “I wanted to be cool … and sometimes life can throw you lemons, and you just gotta make lemonade.”

Within weeks of her medical emergency, Young canceled even more gigs to recuperate.

“I’m going away for a while,” she wrote via Instagram on September 30. “It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future. Thank you for all the love and support. I’m so sorry to let anyone down who has bought a ticket to see me, it hurts me more than you know. Obviously you will be entitled to a full refund.”

She concluded at the time, “I really hope you’ll give me a second chance once I’ve had to work on myself and come back stronger.”

Young rose to fame in 2019, dropping debut single “6 Feet Under” in 2019 and first album My Mind Wanders and Sometimes Leaves Completely in 2023. Young dropped her sophomore album, This Wasn’t Meant for You Anyway, the next year featuring the viral hit “Messy.”

“[It’s] a song that seems to resonate because people can relate — not every day [you have the] clean girl aesthetic,” she said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this year, detailing her “Messy” inspiration. “Some days you haven’t washed your socks. Do you know what I mean? You don’t need to wash your socks every day. It’s ridiculous.”

Amid her rising pop success, Young has navigated mental health challenges. She revealed in 2022 that she was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, a mental health condition characterized by symptoms of schizophrenia and mood disorders, three years earlier.

“I can’t find the words to describe how much this diagnosis has affected my entire life, and my outlook on the world around me,” she captioned an Instagram post. “I have struggled immensely learning to accept this part of myself, and I am still learning. I have to remind myself that I am a regular f***ing person, I am human and I am, like everyone, capable of incredible things, my mental health condition does not define me.”
