When show creator Loren Bouchard pitched his concept for Bob’s Burgers almost 20 years ago, the idea was simple … and rather ghoulish: an animated comedy about a cannibal family who sling burgers made of human meat. Fox execs, worried that cannibalism jokes would quickly become stale (and possibly made in poor taste), asked Bouchard to reconsider. He and his team listened, dropping the gimmick, and set to work reimagining the family as the endearingly quirky Belchers, and surrounding them with an entire town of equally zany but likable characters.

With more than 300 episodes served, Bob’s Burgers has become a part of the zeitgeist, loved by critics and home audiences alike. To celebrate its return after a midseason break — and the innumerable laughs and sometimes tears (remember “The Amazing Rudy”?) the show has provided over these 16 seasons — we’ve put together this fun but daunting quiz. No date night at Stoolz required.

Zero to 30 percent: Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…. OK, so you may not be ready to go up against the DILFs at bar trivia, but remember: Just because you think something is embarrassing doesn’t mean you have to be embarrassed by it. You know Bob’s last name isn’t Burger (unlike a certain handyman), though you may have trouble recalling Linda’s maiden name (it’s Genarro, for the record). You could probably spend a little more time getting to know the residents of Seymour’s Bay, but, hey, that just means you get to watch more Bob’s Burgers. 

61 percent to 100 percent: Alright! If you were a book, you’d be two books, and we mean that as a compliment. You could hold insightful convos with even the most diehard, Henry Haber-like fans in online forums, and may often find yourself quoting the world’s greatest inspirational poster: “Today is tomorrow’s yesterday.” This feels like a banjo moment.
