Tara Reid Surveillance Footage Doesn’t Show She Was Drugged

Less than two weeks after Tara Reid claimed that she was drugged at a hotel bar outside Chicago, police claim that surveillance footage shows “no evidence” of someone “tampering” with her drink, Us Weekly can confirm.

In a statement to Us on Wednesday, December 3, the Rosemont Public Safety Department — which operates in Rosemont, a suburb of Chicago — said that an investigation into a November 23 incident involving Reid, 50, remains “active and open.”

The statement continued, “After receiving the report alleging her drink being tampered with, Rosemont detectives reviewed surveillance from the hotel which includes video at the hotel bar. In addition, multiple interviews have been conducted. While video surveillance showed Tara Reid at the hotel bar, at no time did [the] video show anyone tampering with or adding something to her drink. We can confirm that a bartender covered her drink when she left the bar which is standard practice for bartenders to do.”

The department said it is “currently waiting for hospital records” and could not confirm “if or what specific chemical testing the hospital may have conducted.”

The department is “working” with Reid to obtain those records. “Pending those results or further information coming forward, our detectives will follow up on those leads accordingly,” the statement noted.

The department said “there is no criminal act that has been committed and there is no one we are currently investigating. While we do not have any evidence that a drink was tampered with, it is a good reminder to never leave a drink unattended. If you ever believe you have been drugged or feel unsafe, please reach out to local authorities.”

On Monday, November 24, Reid’s rep released a statement to Us, saying, “Tara Reid is trying to file a police report after an incident in which she believes her drink was tampered with. She is cooperating fully with the investigation. Tara is recovering and asks for privacy during this traumatic time. She also urges everyone to be careful, watch your drinks and never leave them unattended, as this can happen to anyone. She will not be making further comments at this stage.”

A source told Us that day that Reid was in Chicago for ComicCon at the time of the incident, where some YouTubers “noticed her” at a Doubletree hotel bar. Reid “went outside for a cigarette and left a glass of wine at the bar,” per the insider, and when she returned, there was allegedly a napkin over her glass. Reid claimed that she “never put a napkin over her glass,” according to the source.

Tara Reid is opening up about her past romance with Tom Brady. “We’d just see each other on and off,” Reid, 48, reflected in an interview with Bustle published on Thursday, December 14. “It was nothing serious, but it was fun. We’d go to beer places and have fun and dance.” She continued: “He was […]

The source claimed that Reid “took a couple [of] sips and the next thing she remembered was waking up in the hospital,” where Reid’s agent “picked her up.”

The American Pie star subsequently filed a report that confirmed those details and added more. She claimed that she’d been approached by a man named Sean P., who introduced himself as a “very successful influencer and YouTuber” and was with the group of content creators. She alleged that the man joined her at the bar and outside to have a cigarette.

“We went out for a smoke, exchanged numbers and came back, and there was a napkin over my drink,” she continued in the report. “Then the last thing I remember was drinking that drink and seeing a couple sitting next to us.”

She has since traveled home to Los Angeles.

“She’s really freaked out by the whole thing,” the source told Us last week.

The video, which was filmed by an onlooker, showed Reid being guided into a wheelchair in a hotel lobby. Paramedics arrived and placed Reid on a stretcher and into an ambulance.
