Timothee Chalamet Jokes About His Unlikely Wheaties Appearance

Timothée Chalamet still can’t believe he’s on the cover of a Wheaties box.

The actor, 29, addressed his limited-edition Wheaties “Marty Supreme Box” during an appearance on the Wednesday, December 17 edition of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Fallon, 51, beamed as he held up the box, which features a very serious-looking Chalamet as the fictional table-tennis champ Marty Mauser, whom he portrays in the upcoming film Marty Supreme. 

“This is what I’m talking about,” Fallon gushed. “Are you kidding me?”

In response, Chalamet joked, “With my emaciated borderline anemic frame. The only way I was ever going to get on a Wheaties box was by way of the arts.”

He added, “Shout-out [to] all the arts kids out there.”

Chalamet’s performance in Marty Supreme, a 1950s-era dramedy directed by Josh Safdie and costarring Gwyneth Paltrow, has received positive reviews from critics. It hits theaters Christmas day.

“This is a movie about sacrificing pursuit of a dream,” he said Wednesday. “And it’s something I can relate to deeply. And we live in a bleak time, especially for young people. So, this film is an attempt at an antidote to that — and to continue to believe in yourself, to continue to dream big and to follow your dreams and not take no for an answer. That’s the spirit of Marty Supreme.”

Chalamet admitted that he feels a bit self-conscious about promoting the movie with so much enthusiasm, but nevertheless is compelled to do all that he can to persuade people to see it in the theater.

“In my head, something is like, ‘Don’t go this hard, don’t go this hard,’’’ he said. “But I know 10 years from now, 15 years from now — and I’ve been a part of a lot of projects I’m very proud of — [but] this is the one, man. Marty Supreme is the one.”

Chalamet hasn’t been shy about tooting his own horn.

“This is probably my best performance, you know, and it’s been, like, seven, eight years that I feel like I’ve been handing in really, really committed, top-of-the-line performances,” Chalamet said in a recent interview with Margaret Gardiner. “And it’s important to say it out loud because the discipline and the work ethic I’m bringing to these things — I don’t want people to take it for granted. I don’t want to take it for granted. This is really some top-level s***.”

So far, he’s earned a 2026 Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for Marty Supreme as well as a nod for Best Actor for the 2026 Critics Choice Awards. 

Chalamet won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Male Actor in a leading role for A Complete Unknown earlier this year. During his acceptance speech, he declared, “I know we’re in a subjective business, but the truth is, I’m really in pursuit of greatness. I know people don’t usually talk like that, but I want to be one of the greats. I’m inspired by the greats. I’m inspired by the greats here tonight. I’m as inspired by Daniel Day-Lewis, Marlon Brando and Viola Davis as I am by Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps, and I want to be up there.”
