Uniqlo puffer jacket that shoppers ‘can’t take off’ has 40% off

Christmas might be just around the corner, but we still have a long way to go before winter is over, so it’s a great time to invest in a new cosy coat to see you through th rest of the chilly months. And I’ve spotted a brilliant discount on a Uniqlo puffer.  The Japanese brand’s popular outerwear tends to be on the pricier side, but the warm and stylish down jacket is currently 40% off.

The Powder Soft Down Jacket typically retails for £99.90, but has been slashed by 40%, bringing the price down to £59.90 – its lowest price in the last month according to the retailer.

The jacket comes in off white, black, brown and sky blue, and the discount applies to all shades. Sizes range from XXS to XXL in all shades except brown, which is only available in XXS, XL and XXL (at the time of writing). 

If you’ve ever wished you could wear your duvet out, this puffer could be close enough, as it’s filled with a down and feather mix. This means it’s designed to be super warm yet lightweight, and according to shoppers, it has a lovely plush feel.

The puffer has a zipper and popper button combination, allowing you to quickly close it in case of a gust of wind, and it also has pockets. It has a relaxed fit, but to prevent it from looking boxy, an elastic drawstring is included at the bottom to give it a more rounded shape.

According to the brand, it’s coated with a water-repellent finish that protects the wearer from light rain. However, shoppers should keep in mind that it doesn’t have a hood, which may be an issue for some.

With Christmas approaching, this coat would make a thoughtful gift for a loved one, but at this price, it’s also perfect if you’re looking to treat yourself to a new jacket. I’m imagining wrapping up for a post-Christmas dinner walk, wearing it for a crisp hike, or strolling around a festive market with a cup of mulled wine in hand. 

The jacket only has positive reviews on Uniqlo’s website, with shoppers praising its warmth and lightness.

“The Powder Soft down jacket has absolutely exceeded my expectations,” a customer said. “It’s incredibly lightweight, yet wonderfully warm and also suitable for colder winter days. The material feels high-quality and pleasantly soft, and the jacket keeps me reliably warm even in strong winds. I especially like the modern cut and the rich colour.”

Another shopper, who went for the off-white option, wrote: “I still cannot get over how much I love this jacket. It’s the perfect length, colour and look. It is fantastic value for money and looks fabulous on! It is a jacket that will get plenty of use and is also cosy, warm, and soft to the touch. Perfect in every way.”

A third customer was very happy with the fit, saying: “I was on the lookout for a winter puffer that would not make me look awkwardly big, and this jacket is perfect!! It does not look bulky at all, it is soooo soft like a cloud and just all in all super comfortable. Now I really want it in other colours as well.”

They also advised: “Definitely order your usual size, don’t size up as it fits true to size.”

Another review said: “Wonderful luxury-looking light jacket! I got it in brown, the colour is fantastic! It’s so incredibly soft and pleasant to wear, I literally can’t take it off. Love it!”

However, one potential downside to this jacket is that it doesn’t feature a hood, which might be an important feature for some shoppers. Another point to consider is that it’s not fully waterproof, meaning it may not work as well in heavy downpours.
