America has cast its vote, and the people can’t get enough of Aiden Ross.
During the Tuesday, December 16, finale of The Voice, host Carson Daly announced the 20-year-old Texas native was the winner of season 28.
“I’m at a loss for words. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!” Ross wrote via Instagram hours after his big win. “I am filled with so much joy and gratitude. I’ve had the time of my life performing for you all this season, and I am beyond honored to be the Season 28 winner of The Voice 🏆.”
The results also marked Niall Horan’s third win as a coach on The Voice. Every season he has appeared in the red chair to mentor contestants, the former One Direction member has pulled out a win.
In fact, Horan was the one who secured Ross after he received a four-chair turn during the blind auditions for his rendition of Adele’s “Love in the Dark.”
“I’ve grown so much as an individual and an artist, met some of my best friends and learned from the very best in the industry,” Ross reflected via Instagram after the win. “Thank you for following my journey… this is just the beginning💙.”

The Texas native had to press pause on some classes to compete on The Voice. Ross is currently a sophomore at Texas A&M University pursuing an industrial distribution major.
Ross said he chose not to study music in college because of his fears.
“It didn’t seem like there was light at the end of the tunnel,” he shared in a video for his college. “I didn’t think there was a space in it for me.”
While Ross doesn’t post much about his personal life on Instagram, it appears the singer is dating a woman named Lauren Moore.
“Proud president of the @aidenrossmusic fan club!!” Moore wrote via Instagram on finale night. “Aiden is joyful, humble, kind, and the sweetest man alive!! I am so blessed to get to cheer him on every day. Let’s make him the winner of @nbcthevoice tonight!!”
After Ross’ blind audition grabbed the attention of all four coaches, including Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire and Michael Bublé, the performer continued impressing all who watched him.
During the finale, Ross chose to cover ABBA’s “The Winner Takes It All.” Weeks earlier, the singer impressed the coaches with a rendition of Damien Rice‘s “The Blower’s Daughter.”
According to NBC, the winning artist of The Voice will receive the grand prize of a recording contract.
Winners also receive a substantial cash prize, which reportedly has been $100,000 since the show first started airing in 2011.
Before Ross won The Voice, Horan shared a glimpse into why he’s such a fan of his finalist.
“Since the minute that chair turned around, I just felt like I was looking at myself up there,” Horan exclusively shared with Us Weekly. “There’s so many comparisons to be made. I mean, he’s a ridiculous singer.”
The former One Direction member went on to call him “arguably the best singer I’ve heard around in a long time.”
