Who’s Singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl 2026?

The Super Bowl is full of fanfare, with a highly anticipated showdown on the field and an epic halftime performance. But the festivities kick off with another standout moment: the national anthem.

Every year, one musician is given the opportunity to sing the Star-Spangled Banner in front of thousands of Super Bowl attendees and millions of viewers at home.

Curious to know who will be belting it out on the football field this year? Here are all the details.

Who Is Singing the 2026 Super Bowl National Anthem?

Musician Charlie Puth, who is known for hits like “We Don’t Talk Anymore” and “Attention,” will be singing the national anthem at the 2026 Super Bowl.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Puth referred to the national anthem as “the hardest song ever written.”

The 34-year-old recalled how he ended up applying for the gig.

“I auditioned for it, but I made up my own audition because I’ve always wanted to do it — because I love it musically. It’s the best song. Musically, it’s so special,” he said.

When asked if he will be singing live, Puth said, “I’ll be singing. The mic will be on.” He also noted that certain parts of the song are prerecorded for practicality.

“It’s impossible to mic an orchestra and expect that it’s gonna sound good in a stadium that’s filled with a hundred thousand people that are going to be cheering,” he said.

During the interview, Puth noted that he’s inspired by Whitney Houston, who sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl in 1991 and is also a fellow New Jersey native.

“It’s a great honor. I’m going to be inspired by what Whitney did, but I can’t ever touch what she did. That’s the best one ever done — that and the Chris Stapleton one. That was raw. Made grown men cry. I just want to do my own thing with the hardest piece of music ever written. And I just wanna show people that I can do it,” he said.

Who’s Performing the Halftime Show?

Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny is taking the stage at the Apple Music Super Bowl 60 halftime show. This is the musician’s first time as a Super Bowl halftime show headliner, but he previously appeared as a guest in 2020 during Shakira and Jennifer Lopez’s 2020 halftime show performance.

Who Else is Performing?

In addition to the national anthem and halftime show, Super Bowl attendees and viewers will also be treated to several other performances.

Teddy Swims will kick things off by performing at the Super Bowl Tailgate at 3:50 p.m. ET. LaRussell will be his opening act. The performance will be available to stream live on Peacock.

At 6 p.m. ET, the following artists will perform during the Super Bowl Opening Ceremony: Green Day, Charlie Puth, Brandi Carlile and Coco Jones.
