Adriel Favela, Calle 24 Drop Video for WWE-Inspired ‘Sucio Dom’: Watch

“The connection to lucha libre came naturally,” Favela says of the track honoring Dominik Mysterio
It’s pretty common for corridos to honor head honchos in every realm, from mob bosses to cartel kings to politicians. But Adriel Favela and Calle 24 are putting a different spin on things — and with their new song “Sucio Dom,” they’re bringing the genre into the WWE ring and honoring Mexican American wrestling standout Dominik Mysterio.
The video for the track drops today and shows the two acts playing tribute to the WWE showman. Over the strums of requintos, they make allusions to the wresting star: “Rosary on my chest and always in black/Everything is a mystery, that’s how God wanted it/Long mane like a warrior/Blood isn’t heavy, loyalty wins.”
According to Favela, it wasn’t hard to make the link between the wrestling world and musica mexciana. “The connection to lucha libre came naturally — in Mexico, it embodies family, identity, and culture,” he tells Rolling Stone. “And even though Dom was born in the United States, the Mexican audience has watched him grow and embraced him as one of their own. That cultural bond is what gives this release its true meaning.”
Bu the song also has greater meaning to him and tells the story of someone pushing through toward greatness. “This project was born from a combination of elements that make it greater than any single brand or individual identity,” he says. “It represents everyone who has ever felt out of place, yet determined to keep moving forward.”
The song and video cap off a busy year for Favela. In January, Favela dropped Origen, an album that marked a return to the corridos sound he’s been known for since the beginning of his career. The lead track, “Un 2X3” featured vocal powerhouse Carin Leon, showing the range and chemistry between both artists. This summer, he filled Mexico’s Lunario of the National Auditorium with a set that included Drake Bell, Octavio Cuadras, Brandon Reyes, and Elvin. In 2026, he’s preparing to drop his awaited album Cobra, which he previewed with the tracks “Cabrón Infeliz.”
