Christina Applegate Speaks Out After Reported Hospitalization

“I’m taking a moment to focus on my health, but I’ll be back with more to say soon enough,” actress says
Christina Applegate has broken her silence following reports that she was recently hospitalized amid her ongoing battle with multiple sclerosis.
“Thank you for the outpouring of love and well wishes,” the actress captioned her Instagram post on Monday. “Health issues are a constant for me, but I’m a strong chick and I’m getting stronger and better every day. I’m taking a moment to focus on my health, but I’ll be back with more to say soon enough.” The post was a photo of her memoir, You With the Sad Eyes, and a mug bearing the words “Kissy Kissy.”
Applegate’s health update came after TMZ reported that the actress was hospitalized in Los Angeles on April 16. At the time, Applegate’s rep declined to confirm to Rolling Stone whether or not the actress was seeking medical treatment, but said: “She’s had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about, as evidenced in her memoir and on her podcast.”
In a recent interview about her memoir with Rolling Stone, Applegate also discussed her podcast, MeSsy, With Jamie-Lynn Sigler, and NextInMS.com, an MS support initiative.
“Basically, we’re just gonna start a bitch session about MS. I always tell people that I don’t speak in flowers, and I think that’s really important,” Applegate said. “Because of the podcast, we’ve noticed that a lot of people have gone, ‘Thank you so much for being so raw and weird and fucked up.’ And so that’s kind of what the platform is. Those of us who have MS are never going to be understood. We just want to be heard. Let us complain. Just let me be pissed off about it.”
