Contestant Wins Largest ‘The Price Is Right’ Prize In History

This year Mother’s Day will be extra special for one Virginia mother.

Vanesa, a retired veteran, appeared on the May 8 episode of “The Price is Right,” where she won over $240,000 in cash and prizes while playing “The Lion’s Share.”

The new game, which debuted this season as a partnership with BetMGM, has contestants guess the prices of grocery store items to earn up to five balls that have a hidden prize amount. After a contestant chooses a ball, they can either walk away with their current prize or keep playing and risk losing it all.

Vanesa earned five prized circles and had a history-making moment on “The Price Is Right,” taking home the largest prize won in a single pricing game in the show’s 54-year history.

With her daughter supporting her in the crowd, Vanesa began choosing the numbers on the ball.

“This is huge for me,” Vanesa said before first selecting number 13 and instantly nabbing $2,500. She kept going and chose 21, which earned her $25,000.

After the reveal, Vanesa dropped to the floor in disbelief. But her luck didn’t stop there, she chose 25 and won $100,000.

When asked by host Drew Carey if she wanted to continue, Vanesa said the last two numbers were her daughter’s birthday and she needed to keep going. She chose 27 and the number gave her another $100,000.

Left stunned and visibly emotional, with one number left to go, Carey once again offered her two choices: continue playing or end it right there.

“I have to believe,” she said and chose 8, which won her a mother-daughter trip to Morocco worth $12,650. That brought her grand total to $240,150.

“Oh my God,” she repeatedly said, jumping up and down while the camera panned to her daughter, who was also emotional in the audience.

Vanesa’s big win surpassed the previous record of $210,000 in a single pricing game of Cliffhangers that happened in 2016, the show’s press release stated.
