Donald Trump Slams Super Bowl Acts Bad Bunny, Green Day: ‘I’m Anti-Them’

President said distance, and not performers, is reason he won’t be at Levi’s Stadium on February 8: “It’s just too far away”
Donald Trump revealed in an interview Saturday that he won’t be attending the Super Bowl, and slammed a pair of musical acts set to perform on February 8 in Santa Clara, California.
Speaking to the New York Post, the president, who attended the 2025 Super Bowl, said he wouldn’t be at Levi’s Stadium for the big game because “it’s just too far away.” “I’ve [gotten] great hands [at] the Super Bowl. They like me,” Trump said. “I would go if, you know, it was a little bit shorter.”
In addition to the distance, Trump also criticized the NFL’s choice of performers for this year’s Super Bowl 60, specifically Green Day, who are playing a pre-game concert, and halftime show headliner Bad Bunny.
“I’m anti-them,” Trump said of the artists. “I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible.”
Trump previously said of Bad Bunny and the halftime show — which sparked a right-wing outrage — in an October 2025 interview, “I never heard of him. I don’t know who he is. I don’t know why they’re doing it, it’s crazy, and then they blame it on some promoter that they hired to pick up entertainment. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”
Both Bad Bunny and Green Day have long been critical of the president over both his terms; most recently, Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong slammed the administration in the aftermath of the ICE shooting in Minnesota, “I’m not a part of a redneck agenda. I’m not a part of the MAGA agenda.”
