Frankie Grande Says Celine Dion ‘Peed’ Herself After Ariana Impression
The pop singer has famously channeled Dion multiple times, including on The Tonight Show
It’s no secret Ariana Grande is very good at impressions. She has famously impersonated numerous fellow singers, including Britney Spears and Celine Dion, during appearances on shows like Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show. Her impression of Dion is so good, in fact, that the pop diva apparently laughed so hard at it that she “peed.”
Ariana’s brother Frankie Grande stopped by The Tonight Show last night to discuss his Broadway career and the Tonys, but also recounted meeting Dion right after his sister had mimicked her singing on The Tonight Show.
“The first time I met Celine Dion was right after Ariana was on your show and she did her Celine impersonation,” Grande told Jimmy Fallon. “And so I was there in Vegas and Celine comes literally running up to me and she’s like, ‘Oh my God, Frankie, you have to tell your sister when she did me on Jimmy Fallon I peed.’ She goes, ‘I was laughing so hard I peed myself. I peed.’”
Ariana has notably invoked Dion multiple times over the years. In 2018, when she appeared on James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke, she performed part of Dion’s 1989 hit “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now,” complete with a fake onstage intro.
In 2024, Ariana shared a nostalgic video from her childhood to celebrate her 31st birthday, which featured a nod to her favorite singer. In the clip shared to Instagram a young Ariana is seen happily singing and dancing as someone off-camera asks, “Why don’t you sing the Celine Dion?” Unfortunately the clip cuts before she does so, but it’s clear the singer has a long history with Dion’s music.
Ariana is currently on her Eternal Sunshine tour, which kicked off last week in Oakland, California. On The Tonight Show, Grande told Fallon that the siblings’ mom Joan flew from Ariana’s opening night to the Tonys to watch him perform and then back to California for the tour. “She’s the best mother,” he noted. “She’s the best mother in the whole world.”
