When Tucci appeared on Maron’s “WTF” podcast in 2021, he shared that Felicity Blunt met his first wife at “The Devil Wears Prada” premiere. Tucci said his first wife was diagnosed with breast cancer just before he filmed the 2006 movie.

“So I did the movie, and she started treatments, and then we had the premiere, and then she was alive for four more years after that,” he said.

“Actually, Felicity — Emily’s sister, my wife — she and Kate talked at the premiere that night and I have a photo of them together, which is so odd. And then many years later, I ended up marrying Felicity,” he added.

He further discussed how his relationship with Felicity Blunt began and the couple’s 21-year age gap as a guest on BBC’s “Desert Island Discs” podcast in 2023.

Tucci said he initially wasn’t sure he wanted to pursue the relationship.

“I was kind of afraid to get into a relationship, and I kept trying to break it off because I’m 21 years older than she is and I didn’t want to feel old for the rest of my life,” he explained. “But I knew this was an incredibly special person.”

After being introduced at the premiere, the two reconnected when he learned Emily Blunt was getting married to John Krasinski in Italy in 2010.

“So I took two and a half days and went to the wedding and met Felicity again,” he recalled. They started dating and he later shared the news with Emily Blunt.

“I’m dating your sister,” he simply told her. When Felicity Blunt was surprised he spilled the beans to Emily Blunt before she had a chance to, he remembered cheekily replying, “Well, she was my friend first.”
