Natasha Lyonne Supports TSA Staff After Flight Incident

“Sure was looking forward to speaking honestly with Drew Barrymore yesterday but guess wasn’t in the cards,” actress wrote
After Page Six reported that Natasha Lyonne was escorted off a plane after allegedly failing to respond to flight attendants’ orders, the actress issued an apology of sorts. “My heart is with all the unpaid TSA agents at our airports,” she wrote on social media with a 💞 emoji.
“Sure was looking forward to speaking honestly with Drew Barrymore yesterday but guess wasn’t in the cards. Who owns page six/New York Post now again?” The answer to that question is the Murdoch family’s News Corp. Lyonne had been booked for Wednesday’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show.
On Thursday morning, Page Six claimed the actress “seemed out of it” in the first-class section of a redeye from L.A. to New York, following the third season of Euphoria’s launch event on Tuesday. (Lyonne is a guest start on the season.) She allegedly failed to respond to flight staff when they asked her to close her laptop and buckle up. Sources told Page Six that Lyonne seemed to be asleep behind dark sunglasses and at one point reportedly said, “Ah, you scared me,” to the flight attendants.
Although the flight staff allegedly took her laptop from her and taxied for takeoff, it returned to the airport where staff reportedly helped Lyonne deplane. Page Six claimed Lyonne “coolly shushed” a gate agent who’d come on board to see what was going on. The holdup reportedly took about an hour.
A rep for Lyonne did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone’s request for comment.
In January, Lyonne, who has long struggled with sobriety, wrote on social media that she had relapsed. “Recovery is a lifelong process,” she wrote. “Anyone out there struggling, remember you’re not alone.”
