See Harry Styles Crash Ryan Gosling’s Opening Monologue

Ryan Gosling was distracted during his Saturday Night Live monologue by an unexpected guest sitting in the front row: Harry Styles.
The actor opened his fourth time hosting SNL by thanking the audience and noting that “it’s the perfect time to be in New York City, early March… is that Harry Styles?”
The camera then cut to the Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally singer, who released his new album the day before and is set to serve as host and musical guest of next week’s SNL.
“I’m hosting next week, and it’s been a while so I just wanted to watch and get a feel for it,” Styles told Gosling.
“So professional, that’s awesome” Gosling said. “You’re here, just wish someone would have told me.”
Styles’ presence dominated the rest of the monologue, as Gosling referred to his new movie Project Hail Mary as “Project Harry Styles,” and when the actor started reflecting on why he likes making movies about space, the camera still gravitated toward Styles. “Why are we on Harry Styles?” Gosling wondered.
“I don’t know, I’m just listening,” Styles said, to which Gosling requested, “Can you listen less cool?”
Instead of focusing on Styles, the production team instead opted for a split screen of Gosling delivering his monologue while Styles watched from the audience. “C’mon guys, let’s get rid of the split screen,” Gosling requested, at which point the screen again became focused on Styles. “Not like that,” Gosling said. “C’mon, what’s going on with Camera 2?”
The planned song-and-dance number featuring aliens was then called off when cast mate Sarah Sherman rushed toward Styles in the audience. Gosling instead launched into the musical portion himself, a reluctant rendition of Styles’ own “Sign of the Times.”
