Shoppers pleased with £40 linen trousers that ‘skim over the stomach’

M&S shoppers say they are ‘very pleased’ with a pair of linen trousers that ‘skim over the stomach’, making them a flattering and comfortable choice for the warmer weather. Now, the Single Pleat Wide Leg Trousers with Linen are available for £40 from M&S.
The trousers, which come in sizes six to 24, are crafted with a ‘touch of linen’, giving them a breathable, airy finish that’s ideal for rising temperatures. Designed in a wide-leg silhouette, they create a relaxed yet polished look that drapes over the body.
A high waistband with a discreet hook bar and zip fastening help provide a smooth, flattering fit, while front pleats add structure and movement. Practical pockets complete the design, making them as functional as they are stylish.
Part of the brand’s Autograph collection, they are designed as a premium wardrobe staple, combining contemporary tailoring with refined finishing touches, perfect for dressing up or down throughout the season. If these aren’t the ones for everyone, Next has the Chocolate Brown Smart Front Linen Blend Wide Leg Trousers for £34.
These come in sizes siz to 26, lengths short to extra-long, and both regular and petite fits. They are said to offer ‘comfortable wear with an elasticated back’ and are finished with side pockets and a zip button fastening.
New Look then has the Black Tapered Balloon Parachute Trousers for £36.99 up for grabs. These come in sizes 10 to 18, and they have a modern silhouette design, side slip pockets and an elasticated waist.
The Single Pleat Wide Leg Trousers with Linen have been rated highly on M&S, however, as one person said: “Bought with the matching jacket. Very pleased with the outfit.”
Another wrote: “Excellent summer work trousers, really flattering shape as they skim over the stomach. They don’t seem to crease badly on the first wear, and are a nice shade of navy. Short length is perfect – I’m 5’4″.”
A third commented: “Lovely trousers. I have them in navy – easy to wear, easy to wash and don’t need ironing.”
A handful of others disagreed slightly. For example, this person said: “Lovely, stylish, flattering trousers. Fit well and hang well. Maybe a bit see-through, but with the right underwear they should be OK.”
Another added: “Good quality and fit. Nice fabric. Although I ordered the regular length which is usually OK, they were too long, so have taken them up. Bought for a formal occasion.”
